Ched Evans Case - October 2016
"Draycott Browne Solicitors are delighted to confirm the verdict of not guilty in the case of Ched Evans. The verdict, delivered swiftly and unanimously, finally brings to an end a case that began on the 31st May 2011.
We were first instructed by Mr. Evans after he had been convicted at Caenarfon Crown Court in April 2012. We offered him advice and assistance, during the course of his time in prison and after his release, in relation to what was ultimately a successful application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission for the referral of his April 2012 conviction to the Court of Appeal.
We represented Mr. Evans at the Court of Appeal in March and April of this year following which we prepared and managed his recent trial before the Crown Court at Cardiff.
The decision of the Jury to acquit Mr. Evans of Rape was perfectly proper and entirely in accordance with the evidence in his case. We would like to take this opportunity to wish him well for the future."
